About the Sega Master System (Japanese)
The Sega Mark III was released in a redesigned case in all the world (except Japan) as Sega Master System. In 1987 the SMS was launched in Japan. The japanese version of the SMS isn't compatible with the SMS sell in the rest of the world. The cartridge conector of the japanese SMS use 44 pins (like the SC-1000 series) while the world version use 50 pins.
